fears, illusions and how best to use each other - Robb Todd

clouds being taken by car
to a lecture within me
fabled unease and openness
to this new curious abundance

adorn sober talk and
wander about

prosaic introductions
wearing a sudden height
and somewhat indolent pleasure

she is recounting her
discovery inside my head
her arm her mouth
a replica of her mother

daughter, man, student, friend, husband, woman, fiancée, fiancé, forty, sixteen, twenty-five, a week

too busy to think alone

a convincing reality measured
by descending through dense clouds
that hang in studied indifference

notice that the barest of atmosphere
was never grateful for anything that
is a reflection of contradictory
contradictions

disagree with each other
about everything
know a lot of expectation

voyage through years of
secretly refused words:
charlatanry, illusion, bullshit

Struggle with the
weakness of babies

the music of air

the sounds of a
moment alone
